About

I am a retired executive from the Government of Canada. Most of my career was spent working on international negotiations (Free Trade Agreements, World Trade Organization Trade in Services, Foreign Investment Protection Agreements, and International Air Transportation Agreements). I had the honour to close out my career as Canada’s High Commissioner to Jamaica and The Bahamas.

I maintain a strong interest in international issues, in particular those related to the Caribbean. I also follow Canadian trade and foreign policy. I’m a member of several organizations with an international focus…

I am a past Chairman of the Board of Food For the Poor Canada, a Canadian non-profit that works to build schools and homes; provide medical equipment and supplies; provide small scale entrepreneurial support; feeding programs and general relief following natural disasters. FFPC is active in the Caribbean and Central/South America.

I enjoy good books (mostly electronic these days), WW2 Strategy games, fine (and even regular) wine, a good debate, and life at the cottage.

From time to time, when I get the time, I will post on subjects that I find interesting.

I am on Bluesky and LinkedIn. I have left “X” because of it’s toxic environment but maintain my two accounts for posterity.

I also curate several Flipboard Magazines. I find the Flipboard platform very useful to organize my reading as well as to share articles and good writing from all over the world on the topics that interest me. You can click on any of the Magazine “covers” below and have a look. And if you are interested in the topic…keep browsing…and remember it’s free to subscribe to these magazines.
